Longtime friends 24 Kilates and SONRA joined forces to officially announce their most recent take on the Proto silhouette — the “Saffron”. Just as the name suggests, this sneaker takes inspiration from the millenary spice found in various manifestations throughout the years.
As one of the world’s most expensive spices by weight, Saffron was first cultivated around the Mediterranean area and then slowly propagated through Europe and Asia. This new project comes up as a meeting point of two countries. Seemingly different in so many ways, Spain and Turkey are bonded by the Mediterranean and hold special appreciation towards the gastronomic contribution of saffron.
SONRA’s Proto sneakers are well known for their luxurious handmade-in-Germany feature. Focused on offering a shoe that is skin-friendly and non-irritating, these sneakers are made from vegetable tanned leather, some of the most environmentally and skin-friendly leather on the market. The Proto “SAFFRON” presents a Fuchsia suede vamp, evoking saffron’s flower. Burgundy and Orange stripes run across the upper, and around the heel and collar. 3M detailing on the heel and vamp complement and highlight the colorway. Branded debossed logos can be found on the tongue, insole, and midsole of the shoe. The look is finished with a gum-colored outsole.
Limited to only 200 pairs worldwide the 24 Kilates x SONRA Proto “Saffron” will be available at both stores on July 21st 2018 and online at Sonra.de
