Essentially a Huarache runner with a full-height neoprene collar and a more aggressive outsole, the Mowabb was created by the renowned Nike designer Tinker Hatfield, back in the 90s. Hatfield took direct inspiration from the Air Huarache runner and brought it to the mountains — as an off-road sneaker. This is how the Mowabb became legendary back in 1991 at its debut.
For 2015, it looks like more big news is coming from Nike’s outdoors category — the Nike ACG — as recently rebranded. The Air Mowabb silhouette is making its return during the second half of the year in the OG original colorway.
The shoe has landed already at select retailers worldwide, including Atmos Tokyo. The price tag is roughly €139 / $148.
