Released for the first time back in 1983 – Marathona – was Hummel’s original running shoe in that era. Thirty-three years on from its initial release, the danish sportswear brand has approached Overkill team for a 21st century revamp of the iconic silhouette. The original old school design specifications can be easily recongnized, even with the little stardust on the aesthetic front added by sneaker king Overkill.
Definitely inspired by the crazy colors of the 90’s, the Marathona features a white micro-suede and a gradient mesh which transitions from violaceous violet to dark purple. The sneakers come with a special packaging covered in geometric illustrations, and a complimentary pair of tube socks.
All the nostalgic sneakerheads and retro runner lovers alike can grab a pair of Hummel x Overkill C.D.O. Marathona OG exclusively from Overkill store on November 25. The remaining stock will go online the next day at 12PM, here.
A worldwide release will follow on December 2 at select retailers.
